Hello All Forum Members;
I'm ZIPYAJ and a late adopter to this unique web site as of today.
I am interested in expanding discussion for the High School Roller Hockey Community category and connecting with likeminded persons and/or organizations whose goals may include the promotion of High School Roller (inline) Hockey for the benefit of student athletes and the sport overall.
As you may come to know, I have been active in the Southern California interscholastic roller hockey movement for several years. Presently, I serve as a Board member charged with Media Relations and Statistics for the Interscholastic Hockey Federation (IHF - see:
www.ihf-hockey.org/). Established in 1998 in Orange County California, the IHF is an all volunteer organization and the governing body for all high school roller hockey in and around the Orange County area. The IHF has since grown to now overseeing fifty-five teams in four different skill divisions, representing thirty area high schools and proudly serves over 700 student athletes currently participating in the 2007-2008 IHF League Season. The IHF is dedicated to the promotion and continuation of the sport of roller hockey and to give all of those high school student athletes that wish to participate an opportunity to do so. It is the ultimate goal of the IHF to perpetuate the sport of interscholastic roller hockey. The IHF works closely with facility operators and organizations such as the Western Collegiate Roller Hockey League (WCRHL
www.wcrhl.com) in promoting quality educational choices and a continuation of the sport for our high school athletes as well as generate the continued interest in roller hockey participation and league play into the middle schools and even the elementary schools of the Southland.
It has been my pleasure to work with numerous individuals and organizations in the Southern California area in promoting the sport and rallying support for issues pertaining to interscholastic roller hockey such as Club Status, Varsity Letter and even collaborative efforts in helping to obtain CIF sanction. Of interest to all who may have curiosities about High School Hockey may be the many commonalities we all share whether your interest is Ice or Roller Hockey in any community across the country.
I do not profess to be an expert. Rather, I would like to assist in channeling information and sharing research on the common issues relating to High School Hockey. As a youth sports advocate and new member of this community, I look forward to your comments.
Respectfully yours,
~ Jay
